TULBAGH is soon to be hit with a music explosion as some of South Africa’s top performing acts head to the town for the Tulbagh Summer Concerts series.

In keeping with the country feel of the area, the concerts will be held picnic-style in the Church Street Gardens, with the historic houss lining the street as an impressive backdrop.

Die Heuwels Fantasties will get the series off to a rocking start on Saturday from 3pm to 7pm. Next up is Arno Carstens on December 5, Karen Zoid on January 9, Jack Parow on February 6, and Francois Van Coke on March 5.

Die Heuwels Fanstasties will bring their unique brand of Afrikaans pop and rock to the first concert. The ground-breaking group is considered to be the first successful Afrikaans electronic act, and they have many notable awards for their music and music videos.

Their first album, Die Heuwels Fantasties, and their second album, Wilder as die Wildtuin, both reached gold status in sales. Their third album, Alles wat Mal is, reached gold within three months after its release. There is no doubt that this band will deliver an exciting concert in their first ever outdoor show in Tulbagh.

“The Tulbagh Summer Concerts will attract many visitors to the valley and we encourage visitors to spend the weekend and enjoy many of the other activities on offer as well. There is huge excitement about the concerts,” says CEO of Tulbagh Wine and Tourism, Patty Nieuwoudt.
