Durban — The IFP in KwaZulu-Natal staged a picket on Thursday morning to voice their grievances in Durban.
The picket was attended by not more than 50 IFP members outside the Durban City Hall.
The secretary-general of the party in KZN, Joshua Mazibuko, said Durban was filthy and the eThekwini Municipality should do something about it.
He further tabled their grievances, including temporary housing for flood victims.
“The flood victims should be placed in the buildings that are owned by the city and the province. Those buildings should be renovated because giving people temporary houses is not a good idea as more money will be needed to get them proper housing,” Mazibuko said.
He said the buildings he was talking about were abandoned and dilapidated, but could accommodate people if the city and the province renovated them.
Their grievances also included the unresolved issues of unemployment, gender-based violence, transit camps, flood victims and rampant crime.
