The National Independent Congress of South Africa (NICSA) condemns former Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane tirade against Judicial Officers of Indian descent as being responsible for her impeachment and removal from office.

Your impeachment that resulted in your removal as the PP had followed the attendant processes necessary for such an act to be enforced. Your disapproval of the findings and your subsequent challenges thereto in an attempt to overturn such findings, while understandable, does not give you the right to become "racial" in trying to find scapegoats for your lot in life.

By suggesting that judicial officers of Indian descent, notably Nazreen Bawa, Zuraya Adhikarie, Fatima Ebrahim and the late Pravin Gordhan were responsible for your misfortune is as disdainful as it is repulsive and repugnant.

Why invoke the racial tag against the Indian community in particular?

Your deprecation is indicative of the political party that you have aligned yourself to, the EFF, whose party leader, Julius Malema, is the chorus head whose cruel and prideful bigotry in attacking the Indian community at any opportunity he can is well known, and you have emulated this caricature of condemnation, but you should well remember that "he who sups with the devil should have a long spoon".

Your position as Public Protector, for certain acts or omissions during your tenure became as controversial as they were questionable hence the institution of an enquiry. A responsible leader would not allude to racial aspects to justify his discontent and you have acted the giddy goat in this regard.

This correspondence serves as NICSA's disapprobation and absolute condemnation of your utterances against a community of people who are very contributory to South Africa and who were in no way a force majeure in your removal as the PP.

NICSA trusts that you will reconsider your ill-intended statement against the Indian community per se and retract your statement as it is undoubtedly offensive.
