The reality TV star and Maskandi artist Mongezi Jama, also known as Mayoghurt and iBliss kaZwelonke, has been making waves in both the reality TV and music scenes.

The young star, who is part of the reality TV show ‘Short and Sweet’, is not only captivating audiences with his on screen presence but is also gaining recognition as an upcoming talent in the traditional Zulu music genre, Maskandi.

In an interview with Sunday World, Mayoghurt also expressed how being part of the reality show has enabled him to demonstrate that individuals with dwarfism are just as capable as those without the condition, as a result of challenging societal perceptions.

The Short and Sweet tv show follows the lives of individuals of short stature as they navigate their personal and professional journeys.

In the music sphere, Mayoghurt has rapidly gained recognition in the Maskandi genre.

His journey into the music industry began in 2018. In 2020, the artist marked a significant milestone with the release of his debut album titled ‘Utshwala Bomfana’.

This was just the beginning, as he recently added to his collection of music with the release of an EP titled ‘Osisi Basemzini’.

Moreover, the 22-year-old is set to captivate audiences at the Ugatsheni music festival on October 5. He is also scheduled to perform at the 4th Annual Ugu Maskandi festival on September 28.

Mayoghurt's transition from reality TV to the world of music has been met with enthusiasm and support from fans and the industry alike including the minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie.

In a trending video on X, McKenzie promises Mayoghurt to invite him to the event that will be held in Gauteng.

“We will book the flight and everything for you,” the minister has promised.
