Tiktok star Seemah Mangolwane is now an award winning content creator after she won an award at the SA Social Media Awards.
However, her fans are using the award to throw subtle jabs at her former friend, Cyan Boujee, who faced internet backlash earlier this month for leaking Seemah’s personal information as well as her under R200 bank balance on her Instagram stories.
Seemah won the Emerging Social Media Personality of the Year award at the 2024 SASMAs on Saturday night. The social media personality is popularly known for creating funny Tiktok skits using trending Tiktok sounds.
Seemah, who is a co-host on the Spreading Humours podcast alongside Zille Wizzy and Yanda Woods took to Instagram to thank her supporters for voting for her.
“I just wanna say thank you to everyone that voted for me. I’m finally an award- winning content creator! As I SHOULD! One thing I’ve learnt from all this is resilience!
“One thing I’ve prayed for ALWAYS is strength to overcome everything and anything that I face in this industry I am in because I don’t know anyone that has taken so much hate with grace and turned lemons into lemonade like I did.
Many popular South African content creators and influencers congratulated Seemah on her big stride.

Content creator Moghelingz commented, “Congratulations mngani (friend).”
Youtuber and influencer Lasizwe Dambuza commented, “Lovie wami!!! (my love) Congratulations!”

Early this month, Seemah has been embroiled in drama with her former content creator friend, Honour Zuma popularly known as Cyan Boujee, who leaked her personal information on her Instagram stories and revealed that Seemah only has R170 left in her bank account.
Cyan Boujee, who was among the top searched people in South Africa last year, received online backlash with social media users defending Seemah and saying that there is nothing wrong with having R170 left in one’s bank account.

The content creator and singer has been celebrating her victory and posting Tiktok skits with her award. Her followers commented on her videos and throwing subtle shades at her ex friend, Cyan Boujee.
