The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival always manages to curate a line-up that celebrates South Africa’s best be it fashion, food or music.

This year organisers are ensuring that they give attendees nothing but the best entertainment, roping in DJ PH and Shimza to take the party up a notch at the Channel O Dance Stage with their respective events properties.

(PH)ola Party and U’R are among the most popular music and lifestyle entities.

Shimza and DJ PH are known to work well together and curate experiences, this is evident with the success of the “Lockdown House Party” broadcast on Channel O during the pandemic.

The seasoned party maestros have put together the freshest amapiano, gqom, hip-hop, Afro-tech, house and pop sounds of the moment.

Drihanna, on Saturday, kicks things off, the DJ has been making serious waves since she performed before renowned South African DJs Black Coffee and Kabza De Small for their back-to-back set at Konka.

Shilly Mingz will get into the mix before DJs PH and Venom take the stage. Then, the infectious amapiano beats will ramp up courtesy of Kabza De Small (featuring Nkosazana Daughter and Mthunzi).

DJ Kyotic will enter the house to get everyone singing their favourite jams. Rappers Sizwe Alakine (aka Reason) and Focalistic will take things to the next level.

As night falls on the festival, Heavy K and Nokwazi will light up the evening with a power set. After that, DJs Dlala Thukzin and Mac Breezy will wrap up Saturday’s festivities with their epic beats.

Sunday will continue the party vibe, with Shamiso and Stoffela serving up summertime bangers before DBN Gogo takes to the decks with an Afro set to ignite the senses.

Then it’s time for deep house grooves courtesy of Darque before the legendary DJ Kent reminds attendees why he’s regarded as one of South Africa’s house music pioneers.

As the sun sets, multi-talented DJ, producer and entrepreneur Shimza will take to the Channel O Dance Stage, reminding Mzansi audiences why he’s become such a huge global sensation.

The festival draws to a close in the sublime company of Sun-El Musician and Mörda (also known as Murdah Bongz).

The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival powered by LottoStar is in its 11th year. The two-day event will feature leading South African and global artists such as Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Thandiswa Mazwai and Sjava on the Main Stage.

Funeka Peppeta, the festival’s media director said: “This year we are going all out to produce an immersive explosion of creativity!

“We’re excited to present Art Meets Fashion: Delicious Edition, a retail platform in association with W&R SETA, where the five disciplines of fine art, fashion design, furniture design, storytelling and performance art will come together to form a bridge connecting generations in celebration of 30 years of unparalleled creative expression in South Africa.

“We are confident that festival-goers will love this new initiative, which will complement our food and music offering to result in a bona fide 360-degree lifestyle festival experience like no other.”

The 11th annual DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival takes place September 21 and 22.
