Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre: (today and tomorrow) The right to gender equality and sexual orientation is examined in the award-winning play Chapter 2, section 9 by Phyllis Klotz today, October 12 and tomorrow October 13, both at 2.30pm. The play is based on the testimony of more than 40 lesbian women, their families, lawyers and the police, interweaving storytelling, singing and music, to talk to the heart of the most insidious hate crimes in South Africa. The play is performed by University of KwaZulu-Natal Drama and Performance Studies (Howard College Campus) students. Ticket R80 for adults and R40 for pensioners and students.

UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music: Talented Durban trombone player Siyalo Zulu debuts new material from his project, The Concrete Jungle, on Wednesday, October 16. KZNSA (KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts): A Luta Continua, the Constitutional Court Art Collection, comes to the KZNSA reflecting on 30 years of democracy until Sunday, November 10. Taking its title from the Thomas Mulcaire 2003 light artwork, now permanently installed in the Constitutional Court’s foyer, this Constitutional Court Art Collection (CCAC) exhibition explores the interconnectedness of art and justice, human rights and democracy, at this key moment in South Africa’s history and future.
