South African consumers are raising their glasses in celebration as 50 Cent's acclaimed liquor brands, Le Chemin du Roi French Champagne and Branson Cognac, officially launched in the country this week.
The announcement has electrified fans, many of whom are eagerly requesting that rapper make a personal appearance at a launch event.
With South Africa currently playing host to a slew of international stars, the anticipation surrounding the rapper's potential visit has generated a wave of excitement among his local fanbase.
Social media has been abuzz, with followers taking to Instagram to express their hopes.
One user wrote: “You need to land in South Africa to launch it,” while others chimed in, asking for a launch event where they can learn to pair these esteemed liquors with South African culinary delights.
“Please come to South Africa to show us how to pair it, in person. We have the dopest (sic) clubs here from the hood to clubs in the richest square mile in South Africa. Ask Busta Rhymes, he didn’t want to leave last week,” added another fan.
The Le Chemin du Roi French Champagne, which translates to "The King's Path," showcases the finest offerings from the prestigious champagne region of France.
Priced between R4k and R6k, this selection includes premium variations such as Brut, Rosé, and Brut Luminous. Each bottle is a true reflection of traditional craftsmanship, featuring grapes sourced from the most illustrious vineyards in the area.
This brand has quickly earned its reputation, collecting numerous accolades, including gold and double gold medals at prominent international competitions.
By contrast, Branson Cognac is known for its sophistication and exceptional quality. Created in the distinguished Cognac region of France, it is produced from select Ugni Blanc grapes, distilled twice in copper pot stills, and aged in French oak barrels.
The cognac range, which includes VS Phantom (Very Special) and VSOP Grande Champagne (Very Superior Old Pale), is celebrated for its rich and distinctive flavours, coming in at prices ranging from R600 to R1 000.
This brand has also made its mark, receiving esteemed awards that highlight its calibre within the global spirits industry.
Mark Louw, the local distributor of CLM Brands, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with 50 Cent and the Sire Spirits team, stating: “We are thrilled to have partnered with 50 Cent and the Sire Spirits team to bring Le Chemin du Roi French Champagne and Branson Cognac to the South African market.
“The champagne and cognac categories in South Africa are robust, and we are excited about the impact these exceptional brands will have on our ever-evolving market.
