Durban – Three children and one adult were taken to hospital on Tuesday after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a crash on Edendale Road in Pietermaritzburg.

Mi7 National Group director Colin David said the accident, which involved two cars and a truck, occurred at about 7am.

The adult and three children sustained moderate injuries, he said.

In a separate accident on Tuesday, IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Dylan Meyrick said they received reports in the morning about a crash on the R102 in the Etete area on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.

Meyrick said when paramedics arrived, they discovered that a taxi and light motor vehicle had collided.

He said five people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

IPSS tips for driving safely in the rain:

2. Increase your following distance.

3. Reduce your speed.
