Sun City - Supercars trumped the classics at the inaugural Concours SA at the weekend, as Best in Show went to Fatima de Abreu's fire-engine red De Tomaso Pantera GTS from Botswana, with her husband Carlos' 1990 Ferrari Testarossa second. Third was Basil Papagorgio's remarkably understated, mint-original Pontiac GTO.
Almost 50 cars were entered in six categories, ranging from Manana Nhlanhla's immaculate Mercedes-Benz 'Baby Merc' 190 SL - which she and her husband Albert trailered to the show from Botha's Hill in KwaZulu-Natal to win the Show and Shine trophy - to Guy Patron's BMW M5, which won the category for Sports Cars Post-1980 - there was no category for four-door sledgehammers.
