Cologne, Germany - In the grand tradition of Ken Block's Gymkhana and Ford's Snowkhana videos, here comes the first Dronekhana video.

It stars 16-year-old World Drone Prix champion Luke Bannister and Tornado XBlades team-mate Brett Collis, 22 - as well as a drifting Focus RS, a smoking Mustang and a robot.

The two drone pilots wear special goggles to give them a first-person view as they take on a unique obstacle course inside a hangar at Ford's European HQ in Cologne, while 36 GoPro cameras capture the action in the style of the 1999 cult film The Matrix.

"It's basically like stepping into the cockpit," said Bannister. "It's a tough course and we had some mishaps - but at least the Mustang's all right, that's all that matters."

Video marathon

Ford has also invited five top gamers from all over Europe for an attempt on the Guinness World Record for the longest video marathon on a racing game. They’ll face a two-day stint at the wheel of a virtual Ford GT race car around the simulated Sarthe circuit, starting at 2pm on Tuesday.

To set a new record, they’ll have to keep going for longer than 48 hours and and one minute - so we’ll let you know what happens on Thursday afternoon.
