British stunt driver Terry Grant, who has no less than 23 world records to his name, will be driving at this year’s Jaguar Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, on two wheels and four.
Grant, who you might know from some of Jaguar’s outlandish stunts performed at recent car reveals, will be keeping rather busy over the first weekend in May.
At the Classic Car event on Friday, May 4, Grant will be piloting a Jaguar XJ-S prepared by JLR’s Training Academy (where the force will no doubt be with him), while the King of the Hill events on Saturday and Sunday will see him participating in a Jaguar F-Pace S
While the timed events will take place on four wheels, Grant will also show off some of his precision driving skills during intermissions and will also perform a two-wheel stunt up the 1.9km Simola Hill, with a little help of a specially-designed ramp.
Grant has performed plenty of stunts at JLR events. Back in 2015 he set the Guiness World Record for the highest loop-the-loop in a car - at 19.08 metres in a Jaguar F-Pace (see video below).
He’s also driven a Range Rover Sport SVR on two wheels with 16 passengers on board (don’t try that at home kids), and has also set records for the most donuts in 100 seconds (39 in total) and changing a wheel on a spinning car, among many others.
Tickets for the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb start at R120 (for a day pass) and can be purchased online
