Long Beach, California - Ken block has given truck fans something to ogle over with the reveal of his latest Gymkhana vehicle build, the Hoonitruck.

But this is seriously so much more than just a low-riding, load-hauling 1977 Ford F-150 with a body kit - beneath its menacing aluminium metal is a modified version of the 3.5-litre V6 turbopetrol engine that powers the GT supercar, cranked up to 682kW at 7400rpm and 952Nm at 6450rpm.

Here Block takes us through the build process in the video below, released ahead of his upcoming Gymkhana Ten video, which promises a mind-blowing mechanical soundtrack.

Why a 1977 Ford F-150 though?

There’s a touching back-story to this build as it is partially a tribute to his late father, who taught him to drive in a Ford F-150 from the same era

“This project has been in the works for about 2 years,” Block enthused.

“I’m beyond pleased with how it turned out, it’s simply one of the most badass and unique vehicles I’ve seen in a long time and I think it compliments my Hoonicorn perfectly.

“It’s also crazy to be throwing something around that’s this size when doing Gymkhana-style driving. But, it looks absolutely wild on camera, and that was our goal from the start. I can’t wait for the fans to be able to see it in action, I think they’re gonna love it!”

Sure we will, now release the video Ken!
