Funds that excel at getting the message across

Every year, at its annual conference, the Institute of Retirement Funds (IRF) gives recognition to retirement funds that excel in the way that they communicate with their members.

The object of the competition, the Communication Challenge, is to promote better communication between retirement funds and their members.

The competition, which is sponsored by Personal Finance, also aims to provide constructive criticism to entrants and other funds to help them improve communication with their members.

This year the competition was again open to retirement funds that are not members of the IRF.

The competition categories are:

- Large funds (more than 3 000 members);

- Medium funds (501 to 3 000 members);

- Small funds (one to 500 members); and

- Umbrella funds.
