Interest rates on money you owe the taxman and on money he owes you have both been cut.
The South African Revenue Service announced this week that the interest rate on unpaid taxes due would drop from 19 percent to 16 percent a year from May 1. At the same time, the interest rate on money the taxman owes you if you have paid too much tax will be reduced from 14 percent to 12 percent a year.
