The signing of Rushwin Dortley for Kaizer Chiefs will not immediately bear fruit, according to former Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral.
The 22-year-old defender is a big signing for Chiefs from Cape Town Spurs, but will form just one piece in a complex puzzle, explained Ertugral.
“Rushwin is a good signing for Chiefs but he needs time,” Ertugral told iDiski Times.
“Chiefs’ pressure at the back could put too much pressure on him. Great for the future but not at the moment to solve their problems, which for me the collective defensive reflexes have to be better.”

Failed Velebayi bid
Though they did manage to bag the signature of Dortley, Chiefs also made a strong bid for another Cape Town Spurs player in Asenele Velebayi. The deal for the 21-year-old fell through, it was reported on Monday.
According to reports, Spurs refused to let him go for anything less than R8 million.
The Soweto Giants finished 10th in the league last season, and would be desperately hoping for a better showing this term in the Betway Premiership.
New coach Nasreddine Nabi will likely focus on shoring up Chiefs’ leaky defence which conceded 30 goals in as many games last season.
Leading up to the start of their new league campaign has not exactly gone according to plan either, with Chiefs being thumped 4-0 by Tanzanian outfit Young Africans in the Toyota Cup earlier this month.
Club legend Itumeleng Khune, 37, also appears to be on his way out of Naturena as he has not signed a new contract yet - though Chiefs have been dragging their heels about confirming his exit.
