In celebration of episode 20 of the “L-Tido Podcast”, host L-Tido decided to flip the script.
The rapper invited “Kings of Joburg” actress Buhle Samuels to host the show with him as the guest.
“We got something special today. I’m usually the man that’s asking the question, but today we going to do it differently. I know there’s so many things you guys want to know about me and how we got to this point, so today on the ‘L-Tido Podcast’ I’m a guest,” he said.
Samuels is well-known for her roles in TV and film, including “Muvhango”, “Imbewu: The Seed”, “All's Fair in Love” and “Red Ink”.
As she warmed up to hosting the podcast, she delved into the questions that have been on fans’ minds, including whether or not L-Tido had accepted DJ Maphorisa’s apology following their beef.
Samuels asked L-Tido about his favourite guest on the podcast. His response to it was the late rapper AKA.
“All the guests where special but the reason I say AKA is because he came on our first episode, we hadn’t built a structure, we didn’t have a foundation.
“For you to go on a podcast that hasn’t happened before, you have to believe, you have to trust the person doing it ...
“He came before there was anything, he was a big brand, so for him to trust me with that is something that I really appreciate ... It’s like he saw what was going to happen to the ‘L-Tido Podcast’.”
As they got deeper in conversation, L-Tido threw shade at MacG’s personality and his team at “Podcast and Chill”.
“MacG is lame, the only one that’s smart on that podcast is Sol (Phenduka). I also heard that Ghost Lady had something to say (about me) ... After I saw Ghost Lady, I understood why she’s a ghost lady.
“You know I’m not that kind of guy but I do not tolerate disrespect, I don’t ... I am sorry (Ghost Lady), but don’t ever mention my name again.”
Soon after, L-Tido addressed the beef that ensued after DJ Maphorisa publicly swore his mother.
Samuels asked L-Tido whether he had accepted the music producer’s public apology.
“It’s very tricky because once someone mentions my mother, it’s like you put me in a place where it’s dark and I’m willing to die about that.
“The reason I did not respond to his tweet is that I was still processing the situation. I was beyond mad at the guy, but I can respect him apologising and I do accept his apology.
L-Tido revealed that Samuels worked behind the scenes to mend his and Maphorisa’s relationship.
Samuel said: “I am so proud of the two of you for being grown about the situation, it wasn’t very nice, but I am just glad that I could be something positive ... I never thought people would actually know about that. You putting me on the spot here.”
Speaking about his good friend and award-winning rapper Da L.E.S, who recently suffered a stroke, L-Tido said: “Many people may not know that Da L.E.S experienced the stroke on his birthday.
“He called me the day before, he wanted me to be with him the night before his birthday to celebrate, but I couldn’t make it ... I was like I will celebrate with him the next day, and then obviously the news came through and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was in a dark place.”
Further along, L-Tido cleared rumours regarding Da L.E.S’s family asking for donations for his medical care.
