THE CASE of four men allegedly involved in two ATM robberies in Soweto last year was postponed in the Johannesburg High Court yesterday.

The matter was last postponed on September 12 after it emerged that a fourth suspect, Fultan Shingange, had been arrested in connection with the robberies in which a police officer was shot dead in Bramfisherville.

Now Shingange, Jonathan Mudau, Sonwabo Magazi and Happy Mokorongo all face charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping, malicious damage to property, conspiracy, and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The case was provisionally postponed until Monday for Shingange’s lawyer to prepare, but is expected to resume for trial on Wednesday. – Vuyo Mkize
