LOVERS of mushrooms can learn more about edible varieties of the fungus during the Soweto Mushroom Festival later this year.
The sixth annual festival was launched yesterday and will be held at Maponya Mall from October 28 to 30.
There will be mushroom tastings and cooking demonstrations by professional chefs.
The aim is to celebrate the best of mushrooms, create awareness of fresh cultivated mushrooms and also illustrate their versatility.
The festival is a South African Mushroom Farmers Association celebration of mushrooms, run in association with the Soweto Tourism Association and Pick n Pay.
