A security officer was assaulted and robbed and a vehicle from the property he was guarding was stolen in Woodview in Phoenix.
Gareth Naidoo, spokesperson for KZN VIP Protection Services, said officers were called to the scene early this morning.
“It is alleged that three armed men arrived in a blue Toyota and stopped next to the security officer. They held him at gunpoint and robbed him of his belongings. The suspects thereafter derailed the gate to the premises he was guarding and stole a white Toyota Dyna. They then fled."
Naidoo said the security officer was then treated for his injuries by KZN VIP medics.
